In Memory of Sheebin Snow Drop (known and loved as Úna) June 18th, 1995 - February 9th, 2006
Nearly a year has passed since our Úna left us. It was just about this time last year that Una again began to feel unwell. She had lost her appetite with her previous heat and then regained it. This time Úna however, did not regain her healthy appetite but instead slowly began her journey to the completion of her life. Every possible test done had no definitive diagnosis as to why Úna would not eat. We took her to a naturopath Vet only to be told that something was seriously wrong – but what? Perhaps environmental toxic poisoning! I do believe if Úna could have spoken that she would have asked to have Albrecht at her side as she passed from this life to the next and so it occurred at seven in the morning the ninth of February.
Úna died as she lived with passion and determination. The Vets who treated her were visibly moved by her determination to live – tirelessly attempting to save her. Úna loved being a mother and wonderful mother she was. In January we had a litter of pups that Úna with great joy would visit and comfort. We would see glimpses of the Úna that we had known – a younger and energetic Úna – the image of an adoring mother.
